Participant Activities

Our team at Options for Life believes the best way to fully integrate Participants into the community is to encourage engagement with the community. Daily outings may include playing sports, walking in the park, and attending cooking, yoga and music classes. Every week, groups choose a unique activity to do with their friends in program; these activities range from bowling, watching a movie and going to the beach.

We also enjoy planning big events that everyone in the program can enjoy and look forward to together. For example, in the past we have gone to Dodgers games, amusement parks and tours such as the SoFi Stadium Tour. We encourage every Participant to bring $10 on Fridays to order a meal. We have seen Participants start from needing assistance to being fully capable of placing their own order and paying for their meal independently.

Volunteer Work

Multiple times a week, Participants will have an opportunity to volunteer. We believe that volunteering is a great way to boost an individual’s confidence and encourage engagement within the community.

Transportation

Options For Life provides daily transportation before and after program hours. This service eases the stress for caregivers, removes the need for 3rd party transportation, and allows more time for Participant interaction.

Virtual Program

As a result of the Covid-19 safer-at-home order, Options For Life launched a 5 day/week virtual program in May of 2020. This program has been a wonderful way for our Participants to stay active and connected and has continued to be of significant comfort to those not ready or able to return to in-person programming.
